A donations and sponsor appeal has been made to help fund a new skate park in the Moorlands.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council are in the process of appointing specialist construction company Maverick Skateparks to design and build a new concrete, wheeled sports facility to replace the current ageing skate ramps in Brough Park in Leek.

The company is working with local skaters and riders on the designs as part of plans to encourage more people to take up skate boarding, inline skating, scootering and BMX riding.

The council is part-funding the new skate park but is looking to raise an additional £75,000 through funding applications and support from local businesses and funders.
